Flint River Flood, 1994

The historic Baker County Courthouse, built in Newton in 1900, was flooded by the Flint River in 1994. Baker County has been subject to several floodings of the river throughout its history, most notably in 1925, 1929, and 1994. Today the repaired courthouse holds the county's public library and historical society headquarters.
