Willard Leroy Metcalf (1858-1925)
After studying in Boston and Paris, William Leroy Metcalf settled for a time in New York before returning to New England,
where he was born. A member of the prestigious group of American impressionists known as "The Ten," Metcalf made his reputation
as the quintessential painter of the New England landscape, depicted in all stages and seasons.
