The General Dynamics F-111 "Aardvark" entered U.S. Air Force service in 1967. It was developed as a two-seat (side-by-side)
fighter-bomber aircraft capable of flying at high speeds at a very low altitude. Among the unique features of this strike
aircraft is its variable-sweep wing. Its maximum speed is 1,452 miles per hour.
