Fighting Angels

The prolific Bostic reinvents the Old Master technique of chiaroscuro in the readily available materials of color markers, enamel paint, and cast-off cardboard. For inspiration Bostic looks to sources ranging from television and Bible illustrations to books on Rembrandt and Picasso. Bostic's heavy black outlines, expressionist brushwork, and religious subject matter recall the work of George Rouault.
