Selena Sloan Butler

Selena Sloan Butler, considered to be a cofounder of the National Parent Teacher Association, was a teacher and community leader for many years in Atlanta. In addition to founding the National Congress of Colored Parents and Teachers in 1911, she served as a leader in the Spelman Alumnae Association, the Atlanta YWCA, and the Georgia Federation of Colored Women's Clubs.
