# New Georgia Encyclopedia > The New Georgia Encyclopedia (NGE) is the first born-digital state encyclopedia: an authoritative, professionally edited reference on Georgia's history, culture, geography, people, government, business, science, sports, and communities. Articles are written by expert contributors, editorially reviewed, stamped with publication and last-revised dates, and include full source citations and further-reading bibliographies. The New Georgia Encyclopedia is a program of Georgia Humanities in partnership with the University of Georgia Press, the University System of Georgia's GALILEO, and the Office of the Governor.
