Robert Conrad Detamore was born in 1947. He attended Georgia Southwestern College (later Georgia Southwestern State University) in Americus and received his bachelor's degree from Georgia State University in Atlanta and his M.F.A. from the University of Georgia in Athens.
His intaglio print Just Play the Game is part of Georgia's State Art Collection.
