In response to discriminatory employment practices at Cracker Barrel, Carl Owens of Queer Nation Atlanta launched what came to be known as the "Buy One" campaign. The campaign called for gays and lesbians to buy single shares of Cracker Barrel stock to demonstrate the collective buying power of LGBTQ+ shareholders.
